We're famous!!!
So, for Memorial Day weekend, we decided to get out of the Danville bubble and headed off to Angel Island. For those of you not familiar with the San Francisco Bay Area, Angel Island is located in the San Francisco bay. It has a couple old defensive batteries, a couple of army garrisons and the US Immigration Station. My family has gone backpacking on the island several times and it is a wonderful place to spend the day and night, watching the bay and other wonderful sights. Well on this certain day, we were at Battery Drew, I think, and a photographer from the NY Times was there taking pictures. For the results, click here! -- 1/7/2011 Unfortunately, this link now doesn't work if you don't have a login with the New York Times.
And here's a picture from that day that we took, it amused me. It is a pirate ship with red sails in the midst of all the more modern looking sailboats!

If you take a moment to read the article, and the other five referenced on the left-hand bar under the "Related" heading, you will learn that State Parks are a dying breed throughout the country.
ReplyDeleteI find that upsetting.
Yep...you're famous! You're being followed by the NYTimes!!! So cool. I liked the way you two are wearing blue shirts and green baseball caps and the parental Brodericks are both wearing red shirts and floppy khaki hats. So coordinated for the press.
